Case Family events from the Manchester Enterprise

There have been Case's in Manchester since 1833. They were among the original founders of the town. They came from Rush, Monroe Co. New York. Three of the original's to come were brothers - Emanuel, Benjamin and Barnabas Case. Others soon followed and entries here include some for them and their descendants.

 

Entries in this table were taken from the Manchester Enterprise, Manchester, Washtenaw Co., Michigan our weekly newspaper. Published on Thursday. I have changed the date around from the published dates to conform with genealogy with day first, then month and last year. In the death events, I have included also the date of birth or the year of birth in some cases, these birth dates were taken from Case family tree entries. I have tried to hold to some sort of alphabetical listing. In the case of females, I have included her maiden name if it was known and also who here husband was. In marriage events, I have included entries for both the bride and the groom, so if you know the bride and not the groom, you can check the bride's name first, same if you know only the groom, check his name first. In birth events that were posted, I have gone through ad added the child's given name from my entries in my family tree. In one or 2 birth events, the child's given. There are several events that pertain to deaths of females who married into the Case family so I have included them. These entries were taken from an old scrapbook located in the Historical Room at the Manchester District Library, Manchester, Washtenaw Co., Michigan. The scrapbook was made from a lady who spent a lot of time cutting out various events and pasting them into her scrapbook, so not all the Case family events are shown here. As time permits I am going to go through the microfilm of the Manchester Enterprise the library has and pull out additional events pertaining to the Case family. So this should be list that will be updated periodically. I am not related to the Case family but have an interest in them because they were one of the early pioneer families in the founding of Manchester in 1832-1833.

 

I decided to post the list first like this and then go back and create a sub list that could include the parents of these individuals if not already listed here, for further help. That is something I am going to work on next.
