Richard Warren was born in 1580 in England. He died in 1628 in Plymouth, Plymouth, MA. From Kate Caffrey's book 'The Mayflower', published by Stein & Day 1974: Officers of Plymouth Plantation; Assistant Governors; 1624 - 28 R. Warren. Passenger on the Mayflower when it landed at Plymouth, December 1620. Mayflower Index # 36,484. From Kate Caffrey's book 'The Mayflower', published by Stein & Day 1974: p 117: Wednesday, November 15 (1620) Warren was one of 16 men (Captain Miles Standish leader) to set out to explore the area. After a mile they came across 5 or 6 Indians and a dog. The Indians ran away. The men gave chase, but lost them. p 124: Wednesday, December 6, another party set off in a reconstructed shallop (boat 30 feet long, single mast, 1 or 2 sails, oars). p 312: Ulysses S. Grant descended from Richard Warren. Appendices: Richard Warren (age 40) (1580 - 1628). Signed the Mayflower compact.
